NEW
BRAUNFELS: The Institute for Public Health and Education Research, Inc.
(T.I.P.H.E.R.)
is a non-profit 501 © 3 corporation (Tax ID # 74-2956928), which hosts a
variety of health, educational and social service programs in the New
Braunfels and surrounding area held a Cinco de Mayo celebration on
Saturday, May 7th from 10:00am to 2:00 pm.
The
Institute’s mission is to improve the quality of life for our
community. TIPHER
is aware of the growing number of Hispanics in the New Braunfels and
surrounding area as well as of the health needs in the community and was
proud to sponsor the first ever Cinco de Mayo celebration with a focus
on health.
There was live entertainment including
mariachis, food booths
and other fun activities for the whole family,
but most importantly there were
free health screenings
and other
important safety
and health information provided by over 30 agencies
including the New Braunfels
Senior Citizen Center, the Comal County Sheriff’s Department and others!
Local
elected officials and candidates attended.
New Braunfels Mayor Cork was present to read the City
Proclamation commemorating the “Cinco
de Mayo Health and Fitness Fiesta.”
