Aging Well in Comal County:
TIPHER received funding
from the Texas Department on Aging to conduct a community focusgroup
designed to ensure that a projected increase in senior citizens did
not result in reduced services or diminished resources for that age
group. Simply put, the overriding goal of this proposal was to ensure
that Comal County has begun to plan for the needs of an aging
population and to ensure
that the county allows it's citizens to age well and to assure each
resident has access to all appropriate and needed services and
resources to achieve the Aging Texas Well Benchmarks.
Thanksgiving Day Feast:
The feast is an
annual event sponsored by TIPHER and held at the WCC. It is for the
entire community and during the last two years over 27 churches
throughout Comal County participated and volunteered. The event is
free and held on Thanksgiving Day from 11AM TO 2PM. If you are
interested in attending or volunteering call 830-629-2011 and chose
item #4 on the phone menu.
